Friday Roversi

I did a huge amount of internet researching while writing my BA, especially on photographers and photographs.

As my subject was fashion photography on the 90s, I of course had to include the famous CK Obsession ads with Kate Moss. From there I did a random picture search on Paolo Roversi, and… BAM. I’d forgotten how much I adore his unique style of photography. It’s absolutely beautiful. So here’s some screen shots of the picture search.

Tuesday Zodiac Umpf!

I have fallen completely head over heels in love with this editorial from the December issue of the British Vogue. It’s absolutely great to see a photographer doing something else than everyone else!

As I’m currently studying the history of fashion photography I love the way this editorial has a vintage feel. Very modern, but still very old-school wonderful. Don’t you think? Photos are by Tim Gutt.

Saturday 200 portraits

Top: Jil Sander 1992, bottom: Rose 2000, both by Nick Knight

If you are familiar with SHOWstudio.com, you’re familiar with Nick Knight – or the other way around. As a fashion photographer he started SHOWstudio.com in 2000 as a fashion portal, taking fashion fascination just a bit further.

Knights visual aesthetics and productions whether photos or videos are fascinating, experimental and so beautiful.

As SHOWstudio celebrates its 30th anniversary Knight has photographed 200 portraits of “the most important people in fashion, music and culture today“. SHOWstudio will show video portraits every week, “documenting not only this shoot but a slice of twenty-first century culture“. These videos are really fascinating, sort of documenting modern life in a very personal, individual way, keeping it simple.

To see the videos that are out so far, go to: 200 portraits.

My favourites at the moment are Florence Welsh, Behati Prinsloo, S.C.U.M and Alana Zimmer. Hell, I dig all of them!

Tuesday Fifty Dollar Vintage

In midst of my exam anxiety (yes, it has begun) I received a fun email from Kalla at Fifty Dollar Vintage. She offered myself and my readers (you) a 15% discount with coupon code BYKIRABO. On Fifty Dollar Vintage they sell vintage pieces (dresses, accessories) for 50$ a piece – which I think is great! They’ve new unique items every day. So go check it out. Enjoy :)
