Thursday My Garden on 1st Floor

Photobucket

Photobucket

It’s no news that I like to grow my own herbs, but this year I’m so lucky that I have a garden that I can use as I please. Which I intend to! In my window sill in the bedroom I have almost 10 pea-plants coming up, along with beans, spinach, lettuce, carrots and spring onions. And in the kitchen the windowsill is stuffed with tiny chili plants (Top photo)! I have so many, I neither have space nor use for them – Want one?? ;)

Today  we’ve planned a day in the garden with the other residents of the building, and we’re gonna take an old house that we have the garden, and nobody uses, down and make a terrasse instead. So we’ve loads of work to do. (And I have to sneak my plants outside, since the space is getting a bit tight in here). I’ll be busy for the day, might see you tomorrow!

Tuesday Strangers, you and I

We’ve nearly become strangers, my blog and I. There are several reasons; As you know, I’ve been working hard on exams, visiting my parents, and there’s another reason, which I’ll pronounce later on.

Going to the south, home, was the perfect thing for me this Easter. The weather has been warm and sunny; the perfect reason to stay in the garden as much as possible. S and I travelled down there together, and worked hard in the garden, and enjoyed it.

On friday we were picked up by K and one of her sisters; We were staying the night in the country in her child home – for cosiness and I had been hired for a special job.
Her family is crazy and fun, and we both had a great time with grilling, beer, joking and laughing.

If I didn’t have to work seriously hard on my exam synopsis I would’ve come back all revitalised (I sort of did anyway, but I didn’t get time to enjoy it!). But now the paper has been handed in, and I have slightly more time to myself – I just have to prepare for my oral exam in a week. But for now, I’m enjoying spring.

Tuesday Walking in the sun

The exam-period hasn’t even begun, and yet I’m too preoccupied to focus on my blog. But finally the spring sun and heat came to Denmark, and it’s loveeelyyy! Earlier today I spent a few hours with P and baby E in the sun in the garden, with strawberries, juice and cakes from the bakery. Gorgeous. Because of Easters I’m leaving tomorrow with S, to go home to see my parents, and later visit K & P in the country further down south. So I’m still busy, but hopefully I’ll be able to pop in once in a while. Hope you’re enjoying the sun too!

Tuesday Good Life

Photobucket

Whoop! I’m back from a short visit at home (for my mum’s birthday) and a trip to Berlin with Uni – Had the best time. And coming back to Denmark in springtime (it’s been sunshine since I got home) it couldn’t be any better! I’ve an easy week at uni, so I’m trying to get some stuff done that I usually don’t have time nor energy to do, such as replanting my plants (woo..hoo?), cleaning computers, looking for specific litterature, making (creative) plans and so forth.

I might have one or two posts with updates from Berlin, but otherwise we’re back to normal.

Enjoy spring, people!

Ps. There’s nothing like waking in the morning with sunshine breaking through the tanned curtains, and your mind bursting with plans and ideas, and then taking your time to make a really nice breakfast, just for you. <3

Monday Come Spring!

This weekend it happened. Spring arrived! With sun and heat and gorgeousness. That I had to study most of the time is a different story.

Later on friday I went for a walk down the main street in the sun, trying to get my mood and energy up up up.

My weekend has been pretty stay-at-homey; I’ve been preparing for a presentation for University, baking (a lot actually – I just realised when looking over the photos!), watching movies and TV-shows, knitting, homey-stuff (such as planting, cleaning..) and trying to make it as enjoyable as possible. It worked out quite well.

Saturday morning I finally got to enjoy my newspaper with my juice and breakfast.

This may look foul if you don’t know what it is.. It’s (what my dictionary calls) Danish brunsviger cake – Soft, light bottom with butter and brown sugar on top. It’s gorgeous! (Here S and I had already eaten half of it.. yum)

Photobucket

Our breakfast smoothies, my new favourite (Strawberry yoghurt, strawberries, banana, blueberries and brambles)

And baked gigantic breads, even more yum!

And found snow drops in the back of our garden, a perfect sign of spring.

And finished three headbands, all in the Icelandic wool. I’m getting in trouble, my production is higher that my usage..

Today we got the presentation out of the way, and later on I’m meeting Á for cosy shopping down town in the sunshine.

Have a lovely sunny Monday <3

Thursday Highlights

Since I don’t seem to be able to draw on inspiration or interesting matter to write more blog posts, I’ve chosen to just show some of the highlights from this week. Even though the flat is currently a mess, I’m wrecked from a long day and a headache, and the weather is grey outside, I still look forward to relaxing a bit, running errands tomorrow, and read read read up on my homework for monday. Oh and having N&N over on sunday! Good stuff.

This week I’ve really enjoyed..
Photobucket

..beginning to knit again after a break. I love this beautiful bottle green, Icelandic Álafoss wool!

…watching small, very girly, very pink flowers bloom..
Photobucket
..receiving my custom-made ring from etsy (the lovely Tunbridge Wells), I love it.
Photobucket
…and true to tradition, watching my newly planted herbs peep out of the soil in the egg trays.

So in that way, it’s been a nice week. But it would be even nicer if somebody would bother tidying the flat, doing my homework and making my dinner <3

Thursday Shambles

Somehow yesterday ended up in stress and realisation. From all sides work keeps coming in – which is great! I like being busy and getting work, but right now everything seems to overlap eachother, and then I loose my overview and then I get stressed.

Today is the deadline for applying for courses for next year. I thought I had a pretty good idea about what I wanted, but for some reason I had to wait until the last minute – and then of course I found out that the application is more work than I thought. On top of that we have nearly 200 pages to read for tomorrow (as if), two papers to write on and some work on the side. Then I loose my grip. And to top it all off with! I didn’t have my morning coffee yesterday (was out, disaster) and it litterally screwed up my entire day, not kidding.
Therefore this mornings photos are focusing on what I dearly appreciate this morning; the beautiful sunlight and my COFFEE.

Monday We Bring the Spring

Photobucket

I met K today as we had planned to go see two new art exhibitions. As art students we probably should have known that the museum is closed on mondays…

We walked around, had cheese cake (YUM) and bad chai, but it was great as always.
Now I just wait for Boyfriend to come home, so I turn up the music!
